KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts routine inspections of facilities and assumes the role of Operator in Responsible Charge for designated systems.
  • Monitors operational gauges, meters, and control panels; manages variations in treatment processes and records operational data.
  • Maintains comprehensive records related to production, maintenance, and treatment, including monitoring charts and flow meters to identify equipment issues.
  • Collects water samples and performs essential chemical analyses in line with established sampling protocols.
  • Conducts routine laboratory tests on samples, documenting and certifying the results accurately.
  • Undertakes additional tasks or special projects as assigned within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Must be available for overtime and on-call duties as required.
  • Responsible for addressing service requests related to customer service, water distribution, and collection system inquiries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Water/Wastewater Certification is not mandatory; however, a C Well or Grade I Wastewater license is advantageous.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to engage effectively with customers.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and adapting to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • A collaborative team player who thrives in a multi-tasking environment.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT:
  • FO Trainee - Required to obtain either a C Well or Grade I wastewater license within 18 months of employment.
  • FO I - Minimum licensing requirement of C Well or Grade I.
  • FO II - Must fulfill dual licensing criteria and possess either a B Well or Grade II.
  • FO III - Must meet dual licensing standards of at least a B Well and Grade II, plus hold an A Well or Grade III.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • May encounter extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, as well as mechanical, electrical, and gas exposure hazards, including fumes, dust, mists, and poor ventilation.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Job responsibilities may require travel to various work sites.
  • A company vehicle will be provided for business-related travel.
