Reports To: General Superintendent/Project Manager

Overview:

At EMCOR Government Services, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service through our multi-craft workforce. Our employees are trained across various trades, including millwrighting, pipefitting, welding, and civil construction, ensuring we meet the diverse needs of our clients. This role focuses on the construction, erection, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures using various materials, while adhering to local building regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze blueprints and building plans to determine necessary materials and dimensions.
  • Prepare layouts utilizing tools such as framing squares and calipers.
  • Shape materials to required specifications using saws and chisels.
  • Ensure structural integrity with plumb bobs and levels.
  • Construct frameworks and erect scaffolding for elevated work.
  • Assess and compare dimensions and forms of various objects.
  • Perform tasks from various positions, including overhead and beneath structures.
  • Distribute concrete to the specified depth and consistency, utilizing floats for finishing.
  • Smooth and shape freshly poured concrete surfaces with appropriate tools.
  • Finish concrete surfaces using power trowels or abrasive stones.
  • Repair defects in concrete surfaces using grinders or chisels.
  • Utilize edging tools for molding joints and edges.
  • Prepare rough concrete surfaces with brooms.
  • Mix cement manually or with machinery.
  • Oversee subgrade work and the setting of forms.
  • Report incidents and cooperate with investigations.
  • Document operational data, including time worked and equipment used.
  • Address employee concerns and provide mentoring for skill improvement.
  • Conduct on-the-job training in safety and equipment operation.
  • Additional skills in other trades may be required to fulfill client needs.

Supervisory Duties:

Supervise a team of one to twelve employees, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal standards. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning tasks, and addressing any issues that arise.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with two to four years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to understand and execute instructions in various formats, and to solve problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to perform essential functions, including standing, walking, and lifting various weights. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Work Environment:

Employees may encounter moving mechanical parts and outdoor conditions. Exposure to heights, fumes, and vibrations may occur, with a moderate noise level in the work environment.
