Job Summary

The Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for performing major repairs, routine inspections and maintenance, as well as annual inspections on our fleet of heavy equipment, pick-up trucks, trailers, and semi-trucks. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing and maintaining inspection and maintenance records on each piece of equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, class 8, and small truck fleet as needed.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance, as well as annual inspections on all equipment, trucks, and trailers.
  • Order parts and supplies from vendors as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection and maintenance records.
  • Perform fieldwork repairs as needed, with most construction sites located within a 30-mile radius of our office.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe functioning shop.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical problems on earth moving equipment, semi and pick-up trucks, concrete saws, forklifts, air compressors, and generators.
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills and ability to diagnose and repair problems using service manuals.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Factory training and welding experience a plus.
  • CAT experience a plus.
