ROLE SUMMARY:
The Senior Vice President of Finance will be instrumental in steering the financial trajectory and expansion of the organization by championing innovation and maintaining a steadfast commitment to process enhancement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication capabilities, adept at simplifying complex financial concepts for employees, partners, and prospective investors. This role demands a proactive approach to challenges, fostering a culture of transparency, problem-solving, and ongoing improvement within the organization.

As a strategic leader at the executive level, the Senior Vice President will oversee all financial operations, providing strategic financial counsel while influencing the company's direction through comprehensive Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and operational performance initiatives. Close collaboration with the CEO, senior leadership team, advisory board, and other critical stakeholders will be essential to ensure the financial stability, sustainability, and profitability of the enterprise.

The Senior Vice President will report directly to the CEO, acting as a trusted business ally. This role encompasses not only the oversight of all financial activities but also a hands-on approach to driving change in a rapidly evolving business environment. The Senior Vice President will be a catalyst for innovation and process improvement while promoting a leadership style that prioritizes people.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A):
    • Establish and execute financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial modeling.
    • Analyze financial outcomes, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to facilitate strategic decision-making.
    • Evaluate investment opportunities and conduct financial due diligence to optimize capital allocation.
    • Implement performance measurement metrics and regularly report key financial indicators to the executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Operational Strategy:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to formulate and execute operational strategies aligned with growth objectives.
    • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies, streamline processes, and reduce costs while upholding quality standards.
    • Conduct financial and operational analyses to assess existing business models and propose enhancements.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations for new market entries, product launches, and strategic initiatives.
    • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Financial Management and Reporting:
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Oversee financial accounting, reporting, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
    • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
    • Develop and implement internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and promoting professional growth.
    • Recruit, train, and retain top finance talent, ensuring the team possesses the necessary skills to meet company objectives.
    • Facilitate strong cross-functional collaboration and effective communication with stakeholders across the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 15 years of experience in corporate finance.
  • A minimum of five years as a CFO in a privately held company environment.
  • Experience with Private Equity-backed businesses is advantageous.
  • Strong financial planning and analysis skills, including expertise in financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing operational strategies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with a history of building and leading high-performing finance teams.
  • Self-motivated operational leader thriving in a hands-on environment.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop timely, effective solutions.
  • High ethical standards and a forward-thinking mindset.
EDUCATION:
  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • MBA is highly preferred.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred.
