Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Senior Transportation/Transit Planner to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the creation of forward-thinking transportation and transit strategies that benefit communities. As a key technical authority, you will provide direction and leadership in all facets of urban and rural transit and transportation planning. Your responsibilities will encompass multimodal corridor assessments, subarea analyses, regional transportation frameworks, technical assistance, and policy formulation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and be adept at engaging with clients and presenting to various audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that project development aligns with quality benchmarks and objectives. Offer strategic insights on intricate transit and transportation initiatives. Collaborate with teams to enhance workflows and optimize project execution. Conduct research, analyze data, and participate in public forums to shape planning approaches. Mentor and supervise junior personnel, fostering their professional development. Utilize GIS mapping and spatial analysis to devise project solutions. Draft reports and memos with actionable insights. Communicate effectively with clients and present to diverse groups. Navigate federal transit funding programs and compliance requirements. Lead public engagement initiatives specific to transit. Address infrastructure and land use challenges impacting transit.Occasional travel for project-related activities and business development is necessary.

Proven experience working independently, showcasing initiative, self-motivation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A Bachelor's degree in urban planning, architecture, public policy, geography, or a related discipline. Certification as a Planner (AICP) is preferred. At least 8 years of relevant experience in transportation/transit planning. Proficiency in ArcGIS or ArcPro software. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Additional Information
