Lead Cost Consultant

Turner & Townsend is on the lookout for a skilled Lead Cost Consultant or Quantity Surveyor.
This role presents a remarkable opportunity to elevate your career within a dynamic team, collaborating with esteemed clients on a varied range of commercial construction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary contact for the overall financial status of a project, ensuring comprehensive and timely cost reporting at both project and portfolio levels. Regularly update clients on the overall financial position, including risk assessments and cash flow discrepancies.
Oversee and manage the change process, including negotiating change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
Engage professionally with various stakeholders, including general contractors, client representatives, and external parties, ensuring effective coordination throughout the construction process.
Conduct thorough reviews of costs and perform valuations on high-value, time-sensitive projects. Ensure timely and precise cost verification and monthly valuation procedures.
Extract and analyze data from multiple sources, including complex spreadsheets, to meet operational requirements and support project and portfolio objectives.
Participate actively in post-contract cost variance assessments and change control processes.
Manage cost impact assessments, contingency management, and commitment tracking logs.
Prepare funding data presentations and facilitate value engineering discussions with stakeholders.
Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and mentor junior team members effectively.
Additional ResponsibilitiesPre-Contract:
Provide commercial insights during design evaluations and contribute to value engineering initiatives.
Review pricing from contractors and subcontractors, leading negotiations on behalf of the client to secure equitable contract pricing. Responsible for completing procurement and bid comparison documentation, along with recommendations for approval. Prepare funding requests as necessary.Post-Contract:
Serve as the primary contact for all commercial and change management activities throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate cash flow reporting and forecasting.
Ensure effective management of post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
Implement the necessary commercial processes and procedures agreed upon between Turner & Townsend and our clients, while contributing to the continuous improvement of these systems.
Ensure that cost auditing and valuation tasks are managed efficiently, establishing a robust process for cost validation.
Produce monthly cost reports and overall project status updates for client presentations.
Facilitate timely negotiations and agreements on final accounts, maximizing value for the client.
Assist in compiling as-built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to adhere to proper project closeout procedures.
