Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cost Estimator to join our dynamic team. As a Cost Estimator, you will assist with the preparation of pre-bid cost estimates. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or individuals with up to three years of relevant experience who are eager to learn and grow in the estimating field.

Responsibilities

  • Estimation: Support the estimation team as needed, including but not limited to, reviewing of project documents, performing quantity take-offs from architectural drawings, and reading and gathering information from specifications and other supporting documents.
  • Cost Analysis: Help analyze costs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate records of estimates, changes, and project details.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with estimators, project managers, and other team members to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
  • Office Development: Provide help to other members of the team as needed, including assistance with compiling and responding to requests for proposals and quotes.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in either Engineering, Construction Management, or in a Construction-related field.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating or in a related field. Internships or relevant coursework will be considered.
  • Competency: Expectation would be for the candidate to understand construction processes and constructability, as well as a grasp of architectural construction drawings and specifications.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and experience using estimation software (Bluebeam/ OST).
  • Attributes: Strong analytical and mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure, adaptability, good written and verbal communication skills.
