Position Overview

The Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science at the University of California-Davis is seeking a visionary leader to serve as the Chair of the Department. The Chair will work closely with the UC Davis Health System and UC Davis School of Medicine leadership, faculty, and staff to advance the Department's clinical, research, academic, and administrative activities. Key Responsibilities

The Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Science will be responsible for:

Providing strategic vision and leadership to ensure the future growth and success of the Department

Working closely with the UC Davis Health System and UC Davis School of Medicine leadership, faculty, and staff to advance the Department's clinical, research, academic, and administrative activities

Demonstrating a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Inspiring colleagues and staff to achieve excellent results

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

A strong academic background, including a terminal degree in a related field

A national reputation for research and leadership
