Position Overview

The Client Relationship Banker roles, including levels I, II, and III, are pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales. Responsibilities encompass accurately managing account openings and closures, performing account maintenance, identifying customer needs for new sales, and executing basic Teller functions as required.

Key Responsibilities - All Levels
  • Achieve sales and service objectives by actively participating in Bank sales initiatives, building robust customer relationships, and utilizing sales and customer service tools.
  • Engage with customers through follow-up communications via phone or email.
  • Ensure accurate account management in accordance with established protocols.
  • Leverage comprehensive knowledge of Old Second products to inform clients about our extensive banking options.
  • Begin to master more complex retail products, including IRAs and loans.
  • Uphold a high standard of customer service to help the branch achieve top customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Utilize cross-training as a Teller to assist with basic transactions as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of compliance and regulatory requirements, completing all necessary training.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours, including branch opening and closing duties.
Additional Responsibilities/Focus Areas

Senior Client Relationship Banker (Level 2):
Exceed sales and service targets through proactive customer engagement and exemplary service.

Client Relationship Banker (Level 3):
Manage a portfolio of Retail Banking clients, maintaining regular communication and advising on personal banking matters. Drive sales through proactive outreach and deepen customer loyalty.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Client Relationship Banker (Level 1):
    High school diploma (or equivalent) with one year of relevant experience in banking, customer service, or sales.
  • Senior Client Relationship Banker (Level 2):
    High school diploma (or equivalent) with two years of relevant experience.
  • Client Relationship Banker (Level 3):
    High school diploma (or equivalent) with three or more years of relevant experience.

  • Exemplary customer service and professional communication skills.
  • Commitment to promoting products and cross-selling services.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and computer applications.
  • Understanding of banking processes, including check handling and account management.
