About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Office Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team at Upstate University Hospital. In this critical support role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our endoscopy procedures. Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work well under pressure will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

About the Job: As a Medical Office Assistant, your primary responsibilities will include: obtaining patient vital signs, observing and reporting patient response to treatment under RN supervision; assisting physicians during endoscopic procedures; answering call lights and supporting RNs/LPNs with patient care as needed. You will also be responsible for reprocessing scopes and other instruments used during endoscopic procedures, participating in infection control, making pre-procedure and post-procedure phone calls as needed, scheduling appointments, and performing other duties assigned by management.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you must have completion of an approved Medical Assistant or Medical Office Assistant program or one year of experience directly related to the medical field. Additionally, you should hold current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross and possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. A salary range of $16.00 - $25.88 reflects the competitive compensation package offered to qualified candidates.
