Job Title: Psychiatric Technician I

Join our team at Northern Light Acadia Hospital as a Psychiatric Technician I, where you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic care to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and intellectual disorders.

About the Role:

As a Psychiatric Technician I, you will function within a multidisciplinary treatment team under the supervision of professional staff. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring patients' physical and emotional well-being and reporting changes in behavior or physical ailments to professional staff.
  • Responding to patient needs, taking into consideration developmental stage and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Taking a mindful and thoughtful approach to all patient interactions, maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Functioning within the patient care team, focusing on successful treatment and stabilization.
  • Maintaining a safe environment, complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures, and reporting and directly addressing environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Working Conditions:

As a Psychiatric Technician I, you will be working in a dynamic and challenging environment. You can expect:

  • Potential exposure to abusive and/or aggressive people.
  • Work with computers, typing, reading, or writing.
  • Extended body and limbs to reach items.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Lifting, moving, and loading less than 20 pounds.
