Responsibilities


The Critical Care Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

This role involves providing direct patient care within the defined scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also plays a crucial role in directing and educating patients and their families, as well as overseeing the activities of other nursing staff while upholding care standards in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).

The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care provided to assigned patients and must communicate effectively with physicians regarding any changes in the patient's clinical status, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, and any abnormal findings or symptoms.

Additionally, the Registered Nurse must be able to respond promptly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses, while ensuring patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained.



Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current status.
- Completion of a Critical Care Course is preferred.
- Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current status.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital, with critical care experience preferred.
- Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
