Job Summary:

The Configuration Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Ford Class Aircraft Carrier team in the review of change documentation, including detailed change proposals, specification changes, and schedule requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support to the Ford Class aircraft carrier Configuration Manager in reviewing change documentation, including slides, specification changes proposals, Hull Modification Requests, and Schedule A and B change requests.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with engineers and stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Engineering Agents, Technical Authorities, and HII-NNS to resolve system configuration matters.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date change documentation and tracking files.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 4+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, with at least 1 year of experience in configuration management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM) supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of shipboard electrical systems.
  • Experience working with technical authority.
  • Experience working with program managers in an engineering role.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active or current Secret Security Clearance and U.S. Citizenship.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
