Imaging Float Pool Radiologic Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Imaging Float Pool team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols.
Responsibilities- Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
- Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
- Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
- Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
- Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
- Complete timely quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
- Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
- Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, including respect for privacy and communication style
- Completion of a Radiologic Technology program in an AMA-approved school and/or completion of a CAHEA-approved formal training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- 2 years' experience in Radiologic Technology
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/or certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Current license in the state of practice
- Advanced level certification(s) in specific additional modalities
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
