Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our Float Pool team at Ochsner Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine CT procedures in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Operate CT equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Minimum 3 years ARRT(RT) or CNMT experience, including 1 year of CT experience
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Registered by the American Register of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Current unrestricted ARRT(CT) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and technical language
  • Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure
  • Ability to work self-directed and function without direct supervision
Working Conditions

The incumbent works with patients who have known or suspected communicable diseases and may enter isolation rooms. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

The incumbent works within a healthcare setting, which may involve occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment.
