Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate patient care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Operate imaging equipment to complete procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete quality control procedures and perform notification/remediation as warranted
  • Assist in departmental operations, including inventory, staff schedules, and equipment maintenance
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or eligible for registration within 90 days of employment
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Radiologic technology experience
Physical and Environmental Demands

This role requires frequent exertion of 10-20 pounds of force to move objects, occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekends, and holidays. The incumbent must be able to travel throughout and between facilities and work in a patient care area with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue.
