Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Imaging Technologist to join our Radiology Department at Ochsner Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients and safely performing routine radiographic procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols.

This role requires a strong understanding of radiologic technology principles and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Imaging Technologist will be responsible for verifying physician orders, utilizing radiology information systems, and explaining procedures to patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards

Requirements:

  • Completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current unrestricted license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Radiologic technology experience
  • Knowledge of Windows-style applications and various software packages specific to the role

Working Conditions:

The Imaging Technologist will work in a patient care area and will be exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
