Position Overview:

ECS Limited is excited to present an exceptional opportunity for a skilled and certified Construction Materials Supervisor to become a vital part of our team.

In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our technicians receive the necessary training and organization through effective supervision within the Construction Materials department.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations:

Conduct observations, testing, sampling, and inspections of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel on job sites.


Safety Management:

Maintain and organize inventory of supplies; Calibrate and service field equipment while keeping precise records; Foster a culture of safety; Ensure the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) on job sites; Assist in mandatory safety training.


Effective Communication:

Engage in daily communication with technicians, project managers, and general contractors; Collaborate with Team Leaders to facilitate scheduling and recruitment to ensure adequate staffing within your team; Support the management of field personnel; Actively mentor and train junior staff as they advance in their careers; Provide assistance to project managers and department managers as required; Attend project meetings as necessary; May engage in business development, marketing, and client relations.

Encourage ongoing participation in both internal and external training programs and certification opportunities offered by organizations such as ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, various State DOTs, WACEL, and others, as applicable.


Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.

4+ years of relevant experience.

Must possess and be willing to maintain essential certifications.

Advanced certifications may be necessary based on the tasks performed.

Ability to lift a minimum of 85 pounds.

In-depth understanding of construction materials testing principles, applications, and ASTM testing standards.

Skilled in data interpretation and evaluation of construction materials testing techniques and results.


Experience in conducting field and/or laboratory tests on construction materials and the capability to assess test results for compliance with specifications.

Strong knowledge of construction materials testing and evaluation methods.

Excellent communication skills (verbal, reading, and writing).

Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
