Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company is a comprehensive general contracting organization with the expertise to execute structural and architectural concrete projects, steel fabrication, and various carpentry tasks. We are seeking a Concrete Foreman with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the concrete industry. This role is crucial for the expansion of our concrete self-performing team.
Core Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervising, managing, and mentoring craft personnel (general laborers, concrete form setters, and finishers) while executing tasks related to concrete forming, placement, finishing, curing, and cutting.
- Choosing appropriate equipment and materials to ensure quality outcomes.
- Planning, managing, and overseeing the organization, material storage, maintenance, and inspections of concrete construction in compliance with all relevant plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Coordinating and managing the work of subcontractors involved in concrete construction, including ironworkers and finishers.
- Performing hands-on tasks as necessary, including concrete form carpentry, placement, finishing, curing, and cutting of concrete slabs.
- Maintaining effective relationships with other trades and the main project team.
- Monitoring crew production and quality, including productivity planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Interpreting and understanding blueprint drawings.
- Calculating mathematical figures such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Conducting employee coaching and evaluations.
- Leading the company's Safety Program.
- Utilizing construction technology tools such as Procore, MS Office, and iPads.
- Performing additional onsite carpentry work as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certification.
- A minimum of 5 years of concrete experience is required.
- Valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites as necessary.
- Physical strength and manual dexterity to manage materials and tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in using various tools and equipment relevant to concrete finishing and construction.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 lbs.
- Work environment may vary between indoor and outdoor settings, with potential exposure to heights, weather conditions, and noise.
- Compliance with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements at all times.
