Job Overview

The Culinary Sanitation Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the kitchen environment remains clean, hygienic, and organized. This role provides essential support to the Food Service Manager in meal preparation and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
 Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes dishes, glassware, utensils, and cutlery using appropriate methods, including manual washing and mechanical dishwashing.
 Ensures pots, pans, and kitchen tools are washed and sanitized effectively.
 Maintains cleanliness of work surfaces, walls, refrigerators, sinks, and kitchen equipment.
 Organizes food and supply storage areas to uphold safety and sanitation standards.
 Responsible for the removal of waste from dining areas and proper disposal in designated containers.
 Segregates waste and ensures trash receptacles are cleaned and sanitized.
 Assists with the storage of food and supply deliveries.
 Prepares banquet tables for special events as needed.
 Conducts sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing of kitchen floors.
 Delivers food carts to and from dining room service areas.
 Communicates equipment and supply needs to the Assistant Director.
 Participates in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
 Effectively manages time and prioritizes tasks as required.

Supervisory Role
This position does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; one to three months of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.

Language Proficiency
Ability to read and comprehend dietary instructions and communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal.

Reasoning Skills
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in various formats.

Physical Requirements
The physical demands of this role require regular standing, walking, and using hands for various tasks. Occasional climbing, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds may be necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
