As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances, detecting and preventing crime, and providing administrative support to the department.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce laws and ordinances to ensure public safety and security
- Conduct investigations and collect evidence to solve crimes
- Patrol city roadways and enforce traffic ordinances
- Provide court testimony and participate in ongoing training and certification programs
- Perform administrative duties, including maintaining accurate records and documentation
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree or 2 years of college in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology, or related field preferred
- Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws and ordinances
- Ability to communicate effectively and handle difficult situations with professionalism
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
This position involves occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards and outside work. Incumbents may be required to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly.
