The Police Officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the University community, enforcing laws and regulations, and providing emergency services. Key Responsibilities:
  • Patrol designated areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed.
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence to solve crimes.
  • Make arrests and transport individuals to jail as necessary.
  • Provide information and assistance to the public, and respond to inquiries and complaints.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Missouri operator's license.
  • Missouri POST certification required prior to employment.
  • Citizen of the United States.
  • Resident of the State of Missouri by date of appointment.
  • Twenty-one years of age by date of appointment.
  • No felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions.
  • No addiction to alcohol or controlled substances.

Selection Process:

The selection process will consist of multiple phases, including a written exam, oral review board, background investigation, voice stress analysis, and psychological examination. The department will also conduct a medical examination and review the candidate's qualifications and experience.
