Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Controls Systems Technician to join our team at CCI Mechanical. As a key member of our Automation Controls Systems team, you will be responsible for the installation, start-up, and commissioning of building HVAC automation and control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Commissioning: Perform point-to-point check-out, commissioning, diagnostic, and maintenance procedures on building automation systems, front-end workstations, servers, electric and pneumatic controls.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair building automation system panels, including communications equipment, printed circuit boards, power supplies, electrical/electronic controls, sensors, and transducers.
  • Programming and Editing: Efficiently edit computer programs for building automation system points, including determining conversion patterns, defining point acronyms, and soliciting alarm specifications from operating personnel.
  • Energy Conservation: Implement energy conservation measures by utilizing and/or modifying the existing building automation system features, including mathematical computation and environmental controls.
  • Maintenance and Service: Perform assigned preventative maintenance, repair, and emergency service calls.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain project-related documentation, including commissioning documentation, daily reports, as-builts, and status reports.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Develop and maintain a cooperative working relationship with members of the company, clients, subcontractors, and other contacts.
  • Training and Development: Assist in junior technician evaluation and training.
  • Project Management: Complete each assigned project focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance while trying to maintain budgetary guidelines as defined by the estimate and re-estimate.
  • Customer Meetings: Attend customer project meetings to provide and gather critical staging/scheduling information and import this information to proper individuals to ensure project flow.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3-5 years' field experience in the HVAC controls industry, including DDC Systems commissioning, software integration operation, calibration, and experience with pneumatic controls.
  • Knowledge: Mechanical HVAC Systems knowledge, knowledge of BAS commissioning tools, and field circuit debugging skills.
  • Understanding: Understanding of the construction industry with an emphasis on mechanical/electrical fields.
  • Skills: Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills, competency in Microsoft Office, Visio, AutoCAD, various operating systems, and experience in Metasys and Alerton software.
  • Personal Qualities: Proven track record of completing jobs on schedule, being self-motivated, and achieving full customer satisfaction, willingness to travel.
