Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC/R Service Technician to join our team at DVL Group, Inc. as a Thermal Systems Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge thermal systems in commercial and industrial settings, particularly in data centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, test, adjust, service, and repair thermal systems, including split systems, DX systems, glycol, and controls.
  • Train customers and contractors on the use of thermal equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance duties on Liebert/Vertiv equipment efficiently and without supervision, with a strong understanding of the iCOM control system.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, replace compressors and failed parts, and solder, braze refrigerant lines, water lines, etc.
  • Communicate daily with dispatchers, reporting job-by-job information about equipment ID, estimated time to complete, labor hours, and parts used.
  • Collaborate with sales associates and senior-level associates to provide customer solutions.
  • Diagnose network issues and work with vendors to achieve successful unit integration to building management systems (BMS).
  • Read, interpret, and utilize schematics and control circuits.
  • Interface with customers professionally, presenting DVL Group, Inc. and Liebert/Vertiv in a positive light.
  • Work safely, following industry-standard safety practices, including knowledge of MSDS, tool safety, equipment safety, and ladder safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • One-year certificate from a college or trade school, and five years of related HVAC commercial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient working with Liebert/Vertiv equipment (or similar) required; at least a few years of experience working with data center thermal systems preferred.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Able to work independently on commercial HVAC service calls.
  • Recent experience using a vacuum pump, micron gauge, and refrigerant reclaim machine.
  • Valid driver's license to drive to customer sites in a company-provided vehicle.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Available to perform scheduled on-call and overtime duties.
  • Prior safety training and OSHA 10 preferred.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred.
