Transport Specialist Role at Commonwealth of Virginia

  • Accountable for the secure movement of patients and medical equipment, including responsibilities related to supply oversight
  • Efficiently coordinates patient transfers while upholding high standards of productivity
  • Confirms patient identity and intended location prior to transport
  • Maintains clean and properly functioning equipment to ensure safe patient transfers
  • Facilitates the delivery of supplies and equipment throughout the healthcare facility
  • Conducts cleaning and inspection of equipment
  • Works in collaboration with the Patient and Guest Services team to provide comprehensive care
  • Adheres to established transport protocols to enhance operational efficiency
  • Offers various shift options suitable for both students and full-time employees

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience: No prior experience necessary
  • Licensure: Completion of the American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Saver AED Course required within 90 days of employment

Physical Requirements:

  • This position necessitates standing, bending, stooping, traveling, and other physical activities
  • Effective communication, auditory, and visual skills are essential
  • Attention to detail and the capability to lift heavy items are required
  • Potential exposure to various elements, including chemicals and infectious materials
