Patient Transport Specialist

As a Patient Transport Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients within the healthcare facility. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of transport tasks while maintaining a high standard of service and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport patients using wheelchair vans to various locations within the Medical Center.
- Ensure that wheelchairs are securely locked during patient transport.
- Maintain precise daily records of transport activities, including the number of trips, individuals transported, and resources utilized.
- Conduct transport duties that may include morgue trips, body releases, and managing viewings.
- Verify patient identity and destination by cross-referencing transport requests with travel logs.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of transport equipment, employing appropriate techniques for patient transfers.
- Deliver supplies and equipment to designated areas within the Medical Center.
- Clean and sanitize equipment after each use to uphold health standards.
- Inspect all received equipment and supplies prior to distribution.
- Work efficiently to maximize productivity and minimize downtime while adhering to transport protocols.
- Collaborate with Patient and Guest Services to enhance overall service delivery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: No prior experience necessary.
- Licensure: Completion of the American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Saver AED Course required within 90 days of employment.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves frequent standing, bending, stooping, and reaching. Candidates must possess proficient communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 lbs. Exposure to various environmental conditions may occur.
