Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support in our procedural care space.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care and support under the supervision of a Medical Center Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Assist patients with personal care and basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN
  • Transport patients to and from procedures, providing comfort and reporting concerns as needed
  • Sort and dispose contaminated materials per hospital guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or Equivalent
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS Certification required
  • Must meet one of the following criteria: Certified to practice as a Nurse Aide in the Commonwealth of Virginia, successful completion of the UVa PCT Education Program, or passage of a nationally recognized and accredited PCT Certification exam
Physical Demands

The job requires frequent bending/stooping and driving. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull lbs and > 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
