Rental Equipment Manager Job Description

The Rental Equipment Manager is a key role at Gillman Home Center, responsible for overseeing the retail rental operations of equipment at our assigned location. This position requires strong mechanical skills, excellent customer service, and good organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to customers, treating them with courtesy and respect. Greet and assist customers in a positive manner, answering questions and resolving concerns.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain an up-to-date inventory of equipment, inspecting for damage, fuel levels, and missing parts. Charge fees when necessary and ensure that out-of-service equipment is repaired in a timely manner.
  • Rental Operations: Coordinate rental contracts and reservations, ringing out transactions on the point-of-sale system. Monitor and track equipment on a daily basis, following up on contracts to ensure timely returns.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe rental area, performing tasks such as cleaning common areas, trash removal, and snow removal.
  • Team Support: Assist other team members as needed and follow all company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: Mechanical expertise is a must for this position. A valid driver's license and For-Hire Endorsement are preferred.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical skills, excellent customer service, good organizational skills, and proficiency with computer skills.
