Job Summary:
The Field Service Technician - Equipment Specialist will perform service, preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades, and refurbishment on equipment at external or company locations, in line with Manager's instructions. This role is responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships and following Best Practices in all administrative and technical activities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with technical developments as shown in internal service bulletins and follow technical courses when instructed by the District Service Manager, applicable to equipment. Stay up-to-date with technical specifications of relevant equipment.
- Customer Interaction: Respond to customers in a way instructed by the District Service Manager to maximize customer satisfaction by following company's Customer Satisfaction Guidelines.
- Service and Repair: Inspect, troubleshoot, report, plan, and conduct service or repair as instructed by the District Service Manager.
- Documentation and Reporting: Submit regular reports and keep adequate records by maintaining documentation in line with agreed standards.
- Cost Efficiency: Make judgments about the most cost-effective and efficient approach to providing service.
- Inventory Management: Maintain documentation to ensure accurate invoicing to the customer, manage and protect the security and traceability of spare parts.
- Sales Opportunities: Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to the District Service Manager.
- Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to the District Service Manager to support continuous quality improvement.
- Training and Development: Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees as necessary.
- Company Representation: Conduct self at all times in a way that promotes a positive image of the company's brand and follow rules of the Quality System.
Requirements:
- Driving License: Required
- Education: Minimum high school education/GED; Technical or Secondary College Preferred
- Experience: 3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical operations or military equivalent experience
