Job Summary

The Department of Disability and Aging is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Services Director to lead our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of our administrative services department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the Administrative Services Department and the Plans Review Department.
  • Oversee the work of employees or teams to ensure that goals are met and work is completed accurately, timely, and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with State of Tennessee Employee Policy and Procedures, Middle Tennessee Regional office Procedures, and the Department of Disability and Aging mission.
  • Approve requested supports and services, as well as billing.
  • Supervise all administrative areas and plans review areas to ensure that services requests are being processed, customers are understanding how to bill, customers are receiving payment timely, and people are receiving services as requested and justified.
  • Ensure the fleet of cars are cleaned, maintained, tracked, and people are legally able to drive the state cars.
  • Ensure that the Regional Office building and all buildings on the Clover Bottom Campus are cleaned, maintained, serviced, and pass licensure requirements, ensuring a safe building stocked with essentials for all employees and visitors.
  • Ensure that the main phone line is operational and manned at all business hours and people are trained on utilizing and directing calls.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with computer programs and software, with the ability to learn new programs and software quickly.
  • Successfully motivating, empowering, and leading successful teams in meeting exceptional work goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, with extensive attention to detail-oriented skill set and mindset.
  • Proven experience and success in a strong leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and experience equivalent to 2 years of increasingly responsible work managing leading a program that works with or relates to Individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD's).
  • Computer programs and systems including Therap, Titan, Edison, SharePoint.
  • Great customer service.
