Position Summary

The Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting a variety of financial services, including budget management, financial analysis, and resource allocation. This position involves preparing comprehensive analyses to assess past performance and inform future financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities

20% Budget Management - Collaborate with departmental leaders to oversee the budget process. Assist in the preparation of detailed annual budgets and provide regular financial reports to support management decision-making.

20% Analytical Support - Provide analytical expertise for complex financial projects, including fiscal year-end close. Develop management reports to facilitate informed decision-making and ensure appropriate allocation of resources.

15% Financial Research - Conduct in-depth financial research and analysis for various internal stakeholders. This includes generating financial reports, analyzing salary budgets, and assessing funding sources.

15% Budget Coordination - Manage departmental budget allocations and maintain financial management tools to ensure effective tracking of financial activities.

10% Transaction Oversight - Review and approve financial transactions, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

10% Compliance Monitoring - Monitor activities for adherence to financial regulations and reporting requirements, ensuring that all financial practices align with established standards.

5% Customer Support - Provide support for various financial activities, including student services and departmental projects, ensuring that all financial processes are documented and transparent.

5% Additional Duties - Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial principles, policies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform complex financial analyses.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database software for financial reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of internal control practices and their importance in safeguarding resources.
