POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Crane Operator plays a crucial role in the operation of cranes to facilitate the movement of materials within the manufacturing facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are essential to the role, though additional tasks may be assigned as necessary:
  • Utilize a forklift to transport heavy materials both within and outside of the facility.
  • Employ a crane to load and secure heavy materials onto semi-trailers.
  • Operate the crane to move materials as required throughout the facility.
  • Package materials and components in various containers to ensure safe shipment to both internal and external clients.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to respond to material requests effectively.
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts of drums or as needed.
  • Utilize the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to locate and transfer drums.
  • Provide training to backup crane operators as necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent evaluation.
  • Possession of a valid Forklift License.
  • Possession of a valid Crane License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Internal Communication: Interaction with peers and other departments to explain information and gather facts, which may include sensitive data.
  • External Communication: Limited external interaction to gather information or respond to inquiries.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Capable of interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Decision-Making: Minimal decision-making responsibility required.
  • Problem Solving: Work involves routine tasks that require the ability to follow instructions accurately.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
  • Physical Demands: Frequent activities include standing, walking, sitting, reaching, hearing, talking, and visual tasks. Occasional activities may involve climbing, driving, bending, and lifting/carrying weights up to 25 lbs.
  • Non-Physical Demands: Occasional requirements for analysis, communication, math computation, reading, and sustained mental activity.
  • Environmental Conditions: Occasional exposure to working alone, frequent task changes, and environmental factors such as dust and loud noises.
  • Work Schedule: Standard shift hours with infrequent overtime or weekend work.
  • Demands/Deadlines: Occasional stress due to deadlines or workload fluctuations.
