Our employees play a vital role in our mission to assist waste management professionals and ensure communities remain safe and clean.The Senior Project Engineer will oversee daily support and process improvements within the product value stream at our facility.
Your responsibilities will include standardization implementation, creating stability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on Oshkosh's key performance indicators (Safety, Quality, and Cost).
YOUR IMPACT
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures across all areas.
- Identify, analyze, and evaluate manufacturing processes for significant enhancements.
- Assess process capabilities, pinpoint improvement opportunities, and integrate new processes and equipment to optimize manufacturing throughput.
- Review and select necessary specialized tooling and equipment.
- Process and implement engineering change notifications throughout the facility.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Product Engineering to introduce new production methodologies.
- Responsible for executing assigned Continuous Improvement projects; also accountable for identifying initiatives that may enhance safety, service, quality, and cost.
- Assist in design for manufacturability for new product development by participating in cross-functional product design teams. Establish production process guidelines and measurement criteria for new products and processes. Provide marketing and engineering with cost assessments for new, redesigned, and existing products.- Create and present capital improvement justifications for enhancements in quality and cost.
- Engage daily with production team members and engineering teams.
- Analyze operational data such as workforce utilization, facility layout, and workflow to design equipment and workspace layouts following lean manufacturing principles for optimal worker and equipment effectiveness.
Ensure manufacturing systems are operational and functioning efficiently.Provide subject matter expertise for manufacturing processes and equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in operations, engineering, or a related field.
- Five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
