Regional Field Service Controls Specialist

Job Summary:
Dematic Corporation is seeking a skilled Regional Field Service Controls Engineer to provide service and repair, as well as service and maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment.
As the Dematic representative in the Customer's facility, this position has a heavy responsibility for maintaining customer goodwill toward Dematic.
The primary objective is to ensure that Dematic systems have the greatest availability possible for Customer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with their Dematic system and equipment.
This role can be based anywhere throughout North America, preferably by an airport for travel. Travel will be required. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in semi-complex equipment trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls.
- Participate in training customers on semi-complex products and services.
- Perform semi-complex maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc., and maintain documents of all inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures.
- Participate in responding to semi-complex service calls.
- Participate in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements.
Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel on short notice and spend more than 80% of the time traveling.
- Must be willing to be available during off hours and travel accordingly.
- Must be able to act calmly in stressful situations.
- Must be able to write concise, clear, and complete trip reports in the time frame required according to Dematic procedures.
- Working experience with troubleshooting Programable Logistic Controllers (PLC) is required.
- 3+ years' experience in a related field providing Customer Service Support Experience with Allen Bradley Logix PLC controls platforms Experience with controls hardware troubleshooting Siemens and Modicon PLC experience a plus Electrical troubleshooting experience Strong Customer Service mentality Strong verbal communication skills over the phone Ability to work independently
