St. Luke's Health System is currently in search of a Medical Lab Scientist to join our dedicated team.

Position Overview

The Medical Lab Scientist plays a crucial role in executing routine analyses within clinical laboratories, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of various health conditions. This position requires a foundational understanding of laboratory practices and the ability to address basic challenges independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct tests on specimens with precision, adhering to established laboratory protocols to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Skillfully collect diverse specimens while ensuring patient comfort and care.
  • Verify proper identification, collection, labeling, and storage of specimens.
  • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments in accordance with departmental guidelines.
  • Assist in mentoring and training junior staff members.
  • Manage inventory levels of laboratory supplies effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment.
  • Document all necessary records and ensure compliance with departmental policies.
  • Accurately input data and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: ASCP certification is preferred.
