St. Luke's Health System is currently seeking a Full-time Clinical Laboratory Scientist I to become a valuable member of our dedicated laboratory team.
*Relocation and Sign-on bonus available*
Work Schedule: 5 shifts of 8 hours, commencing between 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM.
Role Summary:
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist I plays a crucial role in executing routine analyses within clinical laboratories, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of various health conditions. This position requires handling fundamental challenges and demonstrates a foundational understanding of laboratory practices. The role necessitates reliance on initial experience and judgment to achieve objectives, allowing for a limited degree of creativity and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts tests on specimens with precision, organization, and prioritization, adhering to laboratory protocols and policies to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collects diverse specimens as dictated by specific departmental needs, demonstrating skill and sensitivity to patient requirements.
- Ensures accurate identification, collection, labeling, and storage of specimens.
- Performs routine maintenance on laboratory instruments in accordance with established procedures.
- May assist in mentoring and training colleagues.
- Maintains an adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Upholds a safe and sanitary working environment.
- Adheres to departmental policies by maintaining comprehensive records and documentation.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of data entry.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
- Experience: No prior experience required.
- Licenses/Certifications: None required.
- Preferred Qualifications: ASCP Certification.
