Position Overview:
St. Luke's Health System is in search of a Full-time Medical Lab Scientist 1 (Evening Shift) to become a vital part of our dedicated laboratory team.

*Relocation and Sign-on bonus available*

Work Schedule:
5 shifts of 8 hours each, commencing between 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM.

Role Summary:
The Medical Lab Scientist 1 is tasked with conducting routine analyses in clinical laboratories, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of various health conditions. This role requires handling basic challenges and demonstrates a foundational understanding of laboratory practices. The position relies on limited experience and judgment to achieve objectives, allowing for some creativity and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tests on specimens in a precise, organized, and prioritized manner, adhering to laboratory protocols and policies to meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collect diverse specimens as dictated by the specific needs of the laboratory sections, demonstrating skill and sensitivity towards patient needs.
  • Ensure proper identification, collection, labeling, and storage of specimens.
  • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments in accordance with established procedures.
  • May offer mentorship and training to junior staff.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of laboratory supplies.
  • Uphold a safe and sanitary working environment.
  • Adhere to departmental policies while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data inputs.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.
  • Licenses/Certifications: None required.
  • Preferred Qualifications: ASCP Certification.
