Nurse Practitioner Job Description

The Nurse Practitioner is a registered professional nurse who provides comprehensive care to patients in a hospital setting. This role involves evaluating patients, ordering diagnostic tests, and providing patient education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Provide patient education and counseling
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and research protocols
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences, nursing, or registered dietitian required
  • 1-2 years of previous acute care or medical/surgical experience preferred
  • Master's degree in nursing or Nurse Practitioner program from an accredited School of Nursing required
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment
  • Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment
