Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner II to join our team at MedStar Health. The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team, and contribute to the development of our nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide relationship-based care that promotes continuous, consistent, efficient, and accountable delivery of nursing care using the nursing process.
  • Demonstrate professional practice utilizing the framework of the professional practice model and is grounded in a culture of safety and quality.
  • Communicate and collaborate with interprofessional groups to ensure coordination, continuity, and safe care.
  • Support and contribute to the unit, department, and organizational goals inclusive of the mission, vision, and values.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of quality activities.
  • Serve as a preceptor or mentor and participate in professional development activities.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing preferred
  • At least two (2) years recent acute care experience in the relevant patient care area required
  • RN- Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required
  • C-EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) is required for Perinatal nurses (labor and delivery, antepartum, antenatal testing) within 12 months from date of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in specialty or related specialty
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required
