Position Overview

We are on the lookout for an innovative and dynamic Mechanical Research Engineer to enhance our expanding team. In this role, you will focus on assessing and advancing cutting-edge sensing technologies for integration into our flagship embedded solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of solid and fluid mechanics, proficiency in CAD and rapid prototyping, as well as expertise in linear control systems.

Key Responsibilities

Your contributions will include:

  • Developing prototypes for solid-state physical sensing systems aimed at detecting intricate electromechanical phenomena.
  • Establishing data acquisition and experimental infrastructure.
  • Conducting thorough literature reviews and research on electronic sensing technologies.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-disciplinary teams, including data scientists, electrical engineers, and product managers.
Essential Qualifications

The following skills are crucial for this position:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in prototyping and fabrication, including additive and subtractive manufacturing.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in CAD and FEM/FEA.
  • 4+ years of quantitative modeling and analysis experience using Python.
  • Experience in enclosure and mechanism design, with the ability to specify and assemble fixtures, rigging, and environmental testing setups.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in classical physics.

Preferred Background:

  • Degrees in Mechanical Engineering are most relevant.
