Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Research Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for evaluating and developing novel sensing technologies for incorporation in our flagship embedded product. Your expertise in solid/fluid mechanics, CAD, rapid prototyping/fabrication, and linear control systems will be instrumental in driving our innovation efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and prototype solid-state physical sensing systems for detecting complex electromechanical phenomena.
  • Develop data acquisition and physical experimentation infrastructure to support research and testing.
  • Conduct in-depth literature reviews and research on electronic sensing technologies to inform our innovation strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, electrical engineers, and product managers, to ensure seamless integration of sensing technologies into our products.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • 4+ years of experience in prototyping, fabrication, additive & subtractive manufacturing.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in CAD and FEM/FEA.
  • 4+ years of quantitative modeling and analysis experience in Python.
  • Experience with enclosure & mechanism design, including the ability to specify and assemble fixtures, rigging, and environmental test setups.
  • Strong fundamentals in classical physics.
Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field are highly desirable.
