Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Research Engineer to contribute to our dynamic team. In this role, you will focus on assessing and advancing cutting-edge sensing technologies for integration into our flagship embedded products. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in solid and fluid mechanics, CAD design, rapid prototyping, and linear control systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop prototypes for solid-state physical sensing systems aimed at detecting intricate electromechanical phenomena.
  • Establish data acquisition systems and physical experimentation frameworks.
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews and research on electronic sensing technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including data scientists, electrical engineers, and product managers.

Essential Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in prototyping and fabrication, including additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in CAD and finite element modeling/analysis (FEM/FEA).
  • 4+ years of experience in quantitative modeling and analysis using Python.
  • Proficiency in enclosure and mechanism design, with the ability to specify and assemble fixtures, rigging, and environmental testing setups.
  • Strong foundation in classical physics principles.

Preferred Educational Background

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
