POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is essential for the ongoing operations and upkeep of wind energy systems. It necessitates significant travel across various locations. A commitment to safety and a meticulous approach to work are crucial for success in this position.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Adhere to and promote all company safety protocols and policies.

• Engage in activities around wind energy systems.

• Ascend multiple wind towers regularly.

• Maintain professional interactions with clients and colleagues daily.

• Prioritize safety in all tasks.

• Install, assess, maintain, operate, and repair wind energy systems.

• Identify and resolve issues that may lead to unexpected turbine shutdowns or operational failures.

• Climb towers for inspection, troubleshooting, or repair of turbine components.

• Conduct routine maintenance on wind energy systems.

• Evaluate electrical components and systems, alongside mechanical and hydraulic systems.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical issues.

• Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.

• Replace worn or malfunctioning parts.

• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must possess or be able to obtain an active Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

• Technical degree or certification in wind energy or a related field is preferred.

• At least two (2) years of experience working with wind energy systems, focusing on troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, or one (1) year of experience with a degree or certification.

• Familiarity with basic power and hydraulic tools.

• Valid Driver's License (CDL preferred).

PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Capability to climb stairs and ladders up to 125 meters high.

• Ability to work under physically demanding and adverse weather conditions.

• Maintain necessary certifications for the role, including First Aid/CPR, Tower Climb and Rescue, LOTO, ArcFlash, etc.

• Take responsibility for personal and others' health and safety in daily operations, adhering to zero injury principles.

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, reports, and procedure manuals.

• Write reports and business correspondence effectively.

• Present information clearly and respond to inquiries from management, clients, and the public.

• Perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions accurately.

• Address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

• Exhibit strong attention to detail and follow directions precisely.

• Possess basic computer skills and navigate internet-based programs. Ability to read and understand basic schematics.

• Use hydraulic tension and torque tools proficiently.

• Understand procedures for entering and exiting the rotor, including rotor lockout.

• Familiarity with using internal chain hoists.

• Demonstrate knowledge of basic industrial safety practices and protocols, including LOTO.
