Position Overview:

This role involves skilled maintenance and repair of wind turbine mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on wind turbine systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in wind turbines.
  • Identify and report wind turbine error codes effectively.
  • Assist in the removal and installation of turbine components.
  • Support heavy equipment rigging and operations.
  • Collaborate closely with team leaders.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on wind turbine controllers.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reports, including computer entries.
  • Assist with high-voltage system maintenance.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Care for company tools and vehicles responsibly.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn advanced troubleshooting and repair techniques.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma is required.
  • Preferred knowledge in Technical Trade, Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Operations.
  • Certificates or an Associate's degree in Wind Turbine Technology are advantageous.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience with GE 1.5, Vestas V-80, and/or Siemens 2.3 turbines.
  • Familiarity with GE, Vestas, and/or Siemens SCADA systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
  • Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to follow instructions to perform essential job functions satisfactorily.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Able to address problems involving multiple concrete variables.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Technical Proficiencies:
  • Successful performance of all key duties is essential.
  • Experience in mechanically and electrically oriented environments.
  • Prior relevant experience is preferred.
  • Completion of all required training and skill assessments is necessary.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical testing equipment and torque specifications.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license is required.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role include:
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Capability to climb and work on wind turbine towers exceeding 250 feet.
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.
