PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Adhere to and promote all company safety regulations and procedures.
• Operate in and around wind energy systems.
• Ascend multiple wind towers daily.
• Engage professionally with clients and colleagues regularly.
• Prioritize safety in all activities.
• Install, inspect, maintain, operate, and repair wind energy systems.
• Identify and resolve issues that may lead to unexpected turbine shutdowns or operational failures.
• Climb towers for inspection, troubleshooting, or equipment repair.
• Conduct routine maintenance on wind energy systems.
• Test electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components and systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical issues.
• Service underground transmission systems, wind field substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
• Replace worn or defective components.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have or be able to obtain an active Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
• A technical degree or certificate in wind energy or a related field is preferred.
• At least two (2) years of experience working with wind energy systems, particularly in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, or one (1) year of experience with a relevant degree or certificate.
• Proficient in using basic power and hydraulic tools.
• Valid Driver's License is required (CDL preferred).
PREFERRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Capability to climb stairs and ladders up to 125 meters high.
• Ability to work in physically demanding and adverse weather conditions.
• Maintain necessary certifications for the role, including First Aid/CPR, Tower Climb and Rescue, LOTO, ArcFlash, etc.
• Take responsibility for personal and others' health and safety, adhering to zero injury principles.
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, reports, and manuals.
• Write reports and technical documentation effectively.
• Present information clearly and respond to inquiries from management, clients, and the public.
• Perform basic mathematical operations in various units of measure.
• Follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions accurately.
• Address problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Exhibit strong attention to detail and follow directions precisely.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with internet navigation.
• Ability to use hydraulic tension and torque tools.
• Knowledge of rotor entry and exit procedures, including lockout protocols.
• Familiarity with internal chain hoist operations.
• Demonstrate understanding of basic industrial safety practices, including LOTO.
