Business Operations Specialist in the Learning Health Systems Collaborative and LIFT Lab at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

The Business Operations Specialist will serve as a pivotal leader in planning and executing operational strategies aimed at enhancing quality and outcomes across the educational, research, and clinical sectors of the institution. This role is integral to driving the operational implementation of various initiatives that focus on improving healthcare delivery and advancing research and educational efforts on a local, regional, and national scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate the operational execution of projects, ensuring effective management of budgets, reporting, and analytical efforts to support strategic planning.
  • Manage relationships with internal teams, peer institutions, community organizations, and funding sponsors to foster collaboration and support policy discussions related to ongoing projects.
  • Oversee the coordination of complex projects and multidisciplinary teams, while directly managing 1-2 staff members and 3-4 student research assistants with diverse skill sets.
Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree is required, with a Master's degree in public health or a related field preferred. Candidates should possess a minimum of one year of experience in project management within research, education, or clinical quality improvement settings. Experience with state-funded agencies and knowledge of grant management processes is essential.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to inspire a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in quality improvement tracking tools and analysis methods is desired, along with experience in program planning and administration. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is also required. Previous experience in grant writing or fundraising is preferred.
