Position Summary

We are in search of a meticulous professional to fill the role of Senior Accountant. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate a robust understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and their application within a publicly traded company framework. This position demands exceptional organizational skills, a proactive approach to learning and implementing process enhancements, strong communication capabilities, an inquisitive mindset, and the ability to work autonomously while effectively managing time and prioritizing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Accountant, your duties will include:

  • Executing monthly closing procedures, which encompass the preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of various balance sheet and profit & loss accounts, including cash, investments, intercompany transactions, property, plant & equipment (PP&E), leases, and various month-end accruals.
  • Collaborating with operational teams to facilitate the accrual and PP&E processes, leading discussions, and providing guidance on accounting practices.
  • Monitoring and documenting transactions related to PP&E, such as fixed asset acquisitions, sales, disposals, and impairments.
  • Assisting in managing the external audit process, serving as the primary contact for audit inquiries.
  • Supporting equity and payroll administration as required, including preparing monthly new hire equity grants and processing terminations and payrolls.
  • Contributing to the preparation of stock-based compensation expenses in accordance with ASC 740, including necessary financial statement disclosures.
  • Assisting in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings, financial statements, and other management reports.
  • Driving the development and maintenance of the Company's narratives and internal control matrix for control cycles relevant to the Senior Accountant role.
  • Collaborating with the finance team and other operational departments on cross-functional initiatives, including working with FP&A on budget-to-actual analyses.
  • Assisting in the preparation and presentation of financial results during internal meetings.
  • Ensuring all accounting policies and procedures are documented and comply with relevant GAAP standards and regulatory requirements, including SOX.
  • Evaluating assigned processes and recommending improvements to enhance efficiencies and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.
  • Providing support for ad hoc projects as necessary.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Accounting.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, either in public accounting or within the industry (including SOX and accrual experience).
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience in implementing significant process and technology enhancements, with substantial functional experience in accounting operations within a publicly traded company.
  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines independently.
  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their application.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Oracle Fusion, Equity Edge, and ADP is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with reporting platforms such as PowerBI, Smartview, Adaptive, and Workiva is a plus.
