Job Summary

The Unit Director of Ethics and Compliance will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive compliance and ethics program for the assigned unit. This includes developing procedures and controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of experience in compliance-related matters, with a focus on proactive solution-oriented approaches to reduce risk. The role will also involve day-to-day operations of the unit, providing leadership and development for team members, and building and sustaining close working relationships with unit leadership, peers, and business partners.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain a compliance and ethics program that aligns with the University System of Georgia's Code of Conduct and other applicable laws and regulations.
  2. Manage the annual audit of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Review and update policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Develop and deliver training programs to support the Institute's Ethics and Compliance Program.
  5. Conduct risk assessments and present findings and recommendations to unit leadership.
  6. Conduct internal investigations and present findings and recommendations to unit leadership.
  7. Lead and execute transformational projects related to unit compliance priorities.
  8. Foster collaborative relationships with team members and provide oversight and guidance on a regular basis.
Requirements

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Risk Management, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Required Qualifications
Required Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
o Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional
o Attainment of Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional within one year following employment.

Required Experience
Four to six years of job-related experience.

Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

SKILLS
In-depth knowledge of compliance auditing principles and processes. Working knowledge of institutional policies as they apply to ethics and compliance, including time reporting, procurement, and travel reporting.
