The responsibilities of the Customer Service Specialist may vary based on the department supported.

Customer Service Specialists may work in one of the following areas:
Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Millwork, Fashion Plumbing, Outlet, Tool Rental, Pro, or Windows & Walls.

Applicants for the Customer Service Specialist position may be considered for any of these areas, depending on hiring needs and qualifications.


Travel Requirements:

This position does not necessitate regular travel; however, occasional travel may be required for meetings, training sessions, or to assist nearby stores.

What We're Looking For

  • Hourly Full Time or

Part Time:

Typically scheduled for 39 to 40 hours or up to 25 hours per week, respectively; additional hours may be necessary based on store requirements.


  • Availability for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts any day of the week.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that may involve prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities essential for job duties.
  • Associates assigned to the Greeter departments (available in select stores) must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds without assistance; may lift over 10 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Associates assigned to all other departments (excluding Greeter departments) must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds without assistance; may lift over 25 pounds with or without assistance.
What You Need To SucceedMinimum Qualifications

  • 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
  • 6 months experience utilizing common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
  • Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as required by law. Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 months of sales experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits.
  • 6 months of retail experience providing customer service, including identifying and resolving customer issues, assisting customers in locating products, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and expressing gratitude for their business.
  • Bi-lingual skills, if applicable to the store.
  • Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).
