Position Overview

The Chief Veterinary Officer operates under the direct supervision of the General Manager. This role is pivotal in providing direction and overseeing the daily operations of the veterinary services team. The primary objective of this department is to work collaboratively with our research scientists, offering expert assistance in the discovery, characterization, and development of innovative therapeutic products aimed at addressing various human health issues. Our commitment lies in delivering exceptional animal care, advancing veterinary practices, and possessing profound knowledge in laboratory animal science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and management of the veterinary service team.
  • Ensuring compliance with animal care and use programs.
  • Providing expert guidance to research scientists in their projects.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

Graduation from an accredited veterinary institution AND a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in laboratory animal medicine OR certification as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine AND at least 10 years of pertinent experience in laboratory animal medicine OR an equivalent level of formal education recognized by the APHIS administrator, accompanied by 10 years of relevant experience in laboratory animal medicine.
